Poorly Evo 8 MR Six Speed, water ingres and oil degradation

Clive sent in his Mitsubishi Evolution 340MR Six Speed Gearbox for inspection. The gearbox had serious water ingress due to the gearbox being stood for a number of months. The vehicle is a low mileage example with only 43,000 miles. The vehicle had been on a ramp for months while he considered finding a replacement; possibly a used gearbox. After careful consideration he decided to have his original gearbox remanufactured. After looking at several companies that could re-work his existing gearbox, he decided to go with GearLab. We offer many modifications and upgrades to the original Mitsubishi transmission, which he liked. 

The decision was made to send his gearbox in for inspection. Once received we realised there was extensive damage due to the way the gearbox had been stored over the months while he had been considering which action to take. 

We rebuilt the gearbox from the ground up, replacing and upgrading many components. 

The gearbox is now fitted and he is very happy.
